Mogg Che Pakko & Contropakko brings together Marcantonio’s parcel-inspired ottoman and armchair.
Che Pakko wraps a square padded form with decorative ropes, while Contropakko combines several upholstered volumes into a seat, back and right-hand arm. Cords cross the shapes as if binding packages together. Both have fixed upholstery covers, with different dimensions and color combinations suited to their separate roles as an ottoman and an asymmetric chair.
Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba, known professionally as Marcantonio, trained at an art institute and an academy of fine arts. He began with theater work and collaborations with architects before developing objects that connect art and design. Relationships between people and the natural world are a recurring subject in his work.
