LaPalma Giro includes backless stools and stools with backrests by Fabio Bortolani.
A screw mechanism raises or lowers the curved plywood seat between 66 and 76 cm as it turns. Four metal legs surround a circular stainless-steel footrest, keeping the adjustment mechanism visible within the frame. The backed version adds a shaped plywood support above the seat, while both retain the same rotating height adjustment for indoor counter and bar seating.
Fabio Bortolani studied architecture in Florence and worked with Cesare Leonardi before establishing his design practice. His furniture and product collaborations include Alessi, Driade, LaPalma and Serralunga. His Segreta stool and stepladder is represented in the Victoria and Albert Museum's collection.
