Heller Gehry includes a bench, lounge chair, sofa, coffee table and Twist Cube by Frank Gehry.
The pieces use rotationally molded polyethylene bodies with hollow interiors and curved profiles. The four-lobed coffee table can also serve as a seat, while the concave-sided cube works as a stool or side table. The furniture suits indoor and outdoor settings, and selected larger pieces accept sand through an underside opening for added ballast.
Frank Gehry is an architect whose work also includes furniture. His architectural projects include the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and Walt Disney Concert Hall. For Emeco, his Superlight chair grew from an investigation into lightweight aluminum construction, extending his interest in materials and structure to seating.
