Slide Design Amore includes benches and decorative lettering by Giò Colonna Romano.
The polyethylene bench makes the flowing word into a seating surface for indoor and outdoor use; Ocean editions incorporate material recovered from fishing nets and marine ropes. Smaller Message pieces use Plexiglas, while the freestanding indoor sculpture combines polystyrene and resin. These different materials carry the same connected script from a compact display object to furniture.
Giò Colonna Romano is an industrial engineer, designer and entrepreneur who founded SLIDE. His product work draws on knowledge of plastics and rotational molding. The manufacturer's collection includes his illuminated furniture and household objects, developed from familiar forms and attention to how pieces can be used.
