Cattelan Italia Tyler includes swivel chairs with enclosing upholstered backs and optional arms.
The original uses crossed ash legs beneath a steel frame and returns to its starting position after turning. Tyler Wheels replaces that support with a five-spoke aluminum base on casters and adds gas-assisted height adjustment. Fabric, micro nubuck, leather or faux leather provides the covering choices. These different mechanisms distinguish the wood-base chair from its mobile desk-height counterpart.
Paolo Cattelan joined the furniture company founded by his parents, Giorgio and Silvia Cattelan, and took its leadership in 2014. His product work includes the Smart design from 1998. His career connects furniture development with the growth of the family's manufacturing business.
