SLIDE Studio
SLIDE Studio is the in-house design team of Slide, the Italian house founded in 2002 in Buccinasco, near Milan, by Giò Colonna Romano, who brought thirty years of experience in working plastic resins to furniture. Slide's pieces are rotation-molded in polyethylene, a single recyclable material shaped into one seamless, hollow, lightweight form with the color mixed through it, and its first success was illuminated furniture for bars and events. The studio develops collections alongside outside designers such as Alessandro Mendini, Paola Navone, Stefano Giovannoni, Marcel Wanders, Karim Rashid and Marc Sadler; its own projects include the Soft Cubo and Soft Snake seats, which carry the house's forms into soft polyurethane, and pieces with cushions in waterproof fabric. On this site Slide's illuminated planters, bar furniture, lounge chairs and lamps come from that work.
