Poltrona Carrara Armchair
Gufram’s Poltrona Carrara armchair by Alessandro Mendini turns an imposing, stepped form into soft seating.
Its block-like sides and back imitate carved marble, while the body is made from polyurethane and hand-decorated with Guflac. The painted Carrara effect extends across the broad surfaces, giving the chair a monumental appearance that contrasts with its material construction.

Poltrona Carrara is a soft-polyurethane armchair with broad, stepped sides and a block-like back.
Guflac decoration is applied by hand to imitate the veining and surface of marble. The chair measures 60.2 inches wide, 51.2 inches deep and 31.5 inches high. Alessandro Mendini developed the seating form from an earlier sculptural project, creating a freestanding chair with an oversized outline.
