Paolo Cattelan
Paolo Cattelan leads Cattelan Italia, the furniture company his parents Giorgio and Silvia founded in 1979. Giorgio, born in Thiene north of Vicenza, was the son of a cabinetmaker; the company began with marble tables for export, built its first plant in Carrè in 1982, and in 1989 widened its range to chairs, bookcases and storage in wood, metal, glass and leather. Paolo and his brother Lorenzo joined the business in 1995. Paolo worked on the commercial side first, traveling for much of the year to the company's markets, and took the leadership in 2014. He is also the brand's artistic director and has designed pieces of his own, including the Anna chair and the Smart design from 1998. Cattelan Italia remains a family company based in Carrè; its dining tables, chairs, consoles, mirrors and sideboards are among the most numerous pieces on this site.
