Lodes Tidal includes ceiling and pendant lights by Needs Studio shaped as asymmetric metal rings.
Concealed LEDs send light upward and downward from the double-shell body, while the changing outline gives the ring a different profile from each angle. Ceiling versions sit close to the surface; pendants hang on three cables. Sizes, switching and suspension options vary by market, including rise-and-fall versions in the European range and dual switching on North American models.
Needs Studio was founded in Italy in 2020 by Davide Gerlin, Marco Brunato and Matteo Coracin. Its product design practice begins with research into a project's requirements, considering the needs of both the manufacturer and the people who will use the resulting objects.
