Floor lamps and table lamps.
Lodes Hover pairs floor and table lamps by YOY with white shades that appear to float beside slender metal stems.
Paper and polymer form the shades, while the cable is incorporated into the supporting structure. Integrated 2700K LEDs provide warm light, and touch controls at the stem adjust its brightness. The table version brings the arrangement to a desk or side table; the taller floor model extends the same suspended-shade effect beside seating.
Naoki Ono and Yuki Yamamoto founded YOY in Tokyo in 2011. The studio designs furniture, lighting and interiors that investigate the relationship between space and objects. Projects such as Canvas, a picture that functions as a chair, explore familiar everyday forms through unexpected uses.
