Ditre Italia Melville is an armchair and modular sofa family by Patrick Norguet, with fabric edges folded around the padded volumes like a jacket collar.
Small fastening details hold those folds in place around the seat and back. Sofas, corner sections and chaise elements repeat the same upholstery treatment in different layouts. Fabric covers remove from the cushions and outer body, allowing the separate parts of the broad, low seating to be uncovered individually.
Patrick Norguet studied design in Paris and established his studio after his Rainbow Chair attracted Giulio Cappellini's attention in 2000. His approach centers on collaboration with manufacturers, bringing visual research together with production knowledge, technical requirements and the practical use of the finished object.
