Bonaldo Isola by Mario Mazzer includes a clothes stand and mirror with solid American-walnut structures.
The clothes stand raises open, trestle-like uprights around a lower platform, forming a freestanding hanging area. The mirror instead uses an asymmetrical frame of oval-section profiles and adds a movable side wing for reflections from different angles. Both pieces expose the shaped timber around their functions, providing separate hanging and reflective elements for an entrance or dressing area.
Mario Mazzer graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1978 and qualified in industrial design the following year. His practice works with manufacturers on products and furniture. His work has appeared in international exhibitions, design indexes and the monograph Thinking About Things.
