Sideboards and desks.
Bonaldo Blocco by Alain Gilles includes a desk and sideboard that lift rectangular bodies above rounded pillar-like supports.
The desk uses walnut veneer across its wood-faced structure and conceals a drawer within the upper block. The sideboard instead has glossy lacquered surfaces and flap doors, with two support heights changing its position above the floor. Both designs emphasize the junction between a broad horizontal volume and two curved bases.
Alain Gilles moved from political science, marketing studies and finance into industrial design. He opened his own studio in 2007 to work on products, furniture, art direction and interior architecture. His practice collaborates with international manufacturers and develops a personal approach across these different project types.
