Vibia Tube connects Ichiro Iwasaki’s networked lighting system with individual Tube Free fixtures.
The main system links aluminum shades through visible steel conduits, forming ceiling and pendant arrangements at different heights. Tube Free separates the cylindrical forms into standalone pendants or ceiling lights. Integrated LEDs provide directed or general downward illumination, with the network or individual connections determining how the repeated shades are arranged within the room.
Ichiro Iwasaki worked at Sony Design Center and in Milan before establishing Iwasaki Design Studio in Tokyo in 1995. His projects range from household goods and furniture to electronic devices. He has also taught at Tokyo University of the Arts and Tama Art University.
