Cattelan Italia Peyote includes round coffee and side tables with sinuous rigid-polyurethane bases.
The original uses painted or mirrored glass surfaces in two occasional-table proportions. Peyote Keramik replaces glass with a patterned ceramic top measuring 55 cm across at a matching height. The separate tabletop materials alter reflection and pattern above the same sculpted support, allowing a lower or raised surface to sit beside a chair or sofa.
Piero de Longhi began his career in advertising graphics after completing his arts studies in 1968. He moved into industrial design during the 1970s. His furniture work draws on an interest in changing tools, materials and construction technologies, connecting an object's form with the way it is produced.
