A simple line that contains the sound of waves and the scent of the sea: Nori is the new shelf designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti, whose shape recalls the stylised silhouette of a seagull in flight.
Nori speaks the aesthetic language of nature – so essential, never redundant and strongly expressive – with which he tells of lightness and freedom. The seagull is a common symbol associated with the sea, able to evoke memories and sensations linked to images of beaches and sea breezes. The very name of the shelf emphasises the evocative capacity of the design and the involvement of the senses, recalling the characteristic scent and delicately salty aroma of the seaweed whose name it bears. Widely used in Japanese cuisine especially for wrapping rice in sushi and maki dishes, nori seaweed is a good source of nutrients such as protein, vitamins and minerals.
The Nori shelf, so charged with symbolism despite its formal simplicity, not only adds a decorative element to the space, but can also emotionally transport people to the sea, creating a relaxing and evocative atmosphere within any environment. Indeed, Nori adapts with versatility to spaces of different natures: living area, bedroom, children’s room, bathroom, kitchen or even office. Its simplicity also makes it suitable for any interior style, whether minimalist or rich and colourful.
Nori’s shape and size allow objects to be displayed in an elegant, functional and creative way, especially when several shelves are placed side by side to create dynamic and original configurations, as harmonious and light as flocks of seagulls in flight, further enhancing its expressive capacity.
Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.
