Capturing lightness in the full, softness in the solid, and turning it into a project. Patricia Urquiola finds confirmation of her intuition and designs a modular system that is new in form and construction. The approach is technical: an aluminum frame, rounded wooden legs, abundant cushions, tables and horizontal surfaces. Few components, easily assembled and interchangeable. The result surprises and deceives the senses. The fullness of the modules contrasts with the lightness of platforms that, like imaginary stilts suspended above the floor, seem to defy gravity. The legs, apparently extraneous to the frame, are pillars on which to anchor and aggregate them in multiple compositions: For the covering, a wool jersey – soft, elastic both in length and width – follows the shapes, outlined with elegant accuracy by the pleats, continuing the investigation begun with Massas in 2012.

Seat in fire-retardant polyurethane foam with differentiated densities and polyester fibre on an aluminium frame with a polyester/PVC composite stretched mesh. Backrests/armrests in cold-foamed fire-retardant foam and polyester fibre with an internal steel structure. The legs are in powder-coated cast aluminium, with optional upholstery in turned ash with a natural finish. Polypropylene footpads. The Tender collection has removable covers.
