Mirai is a fabric armchair with armrests. For his new project in collaboration with Natuzzi Italia, Andrea Steidl draws inspiration from the 13th-century Federician architecture of Puglia. Like the grand Federician castles, Mirai possesses a structure with strong yet light personality, blending architectural depth with contemporary softness. Through clever optical illusion, the armchair’s lines, akin to the castle’s, seemingly diverge before converging in perpetual, repeated elements, crafting an imaginative, moving texture. In this refined seating, individual elements are held together by a neat wooden structure supporting light, soft volumes. Reflecting the timeless creativity symbolized by Federico II, the project embraces a forward-looking mindset, mirroring Puglia’s enduring beauty and its gaze towards tomorrow.
