Indoor is the new and elegant interior version of the outdoor project designed by Michele De Lucchi
for Alias. The outdoor collection dehors, developed in 2010, has become an icon of Alias’ upholstered furniture. Essential, simple, and poetic, it was natural to think of a home version that would bring the same freshness to the home environment.
The irregular structure that recalls the complex shapes of nature has been rethought by architect Michele De Lucchi in a more neat and rational way: the decomposed sequence of tubes becomes symmetrical in regard to the central axis of the seat. The result is a system of furnishing that can be combined and is composed of armchairs and sofas that bring a new refined and relaxed harmony into the home.
Indoor includes three different configurations: armchair, two-seater sofa and three-seater sofa, all featuring a lacquered steel frame that accommodates three cushions upholstered in leather or fabric.
The generous and comfortable seat cushion includes a wooden frame, belted and covered by foam; the back cushion is made of polystyrene granules, and runs along the whole structure becoming an armrest; the cushions for the lumbar support, padded with feathers, guarantee extreme comfort and give a harmonious and three-dimensional image to the project. While preserving the original idea of the collection, indoor reveals a very precise identity that shows how the extreme attention dedicated to projects allows Alias to create families of highly innovative products, making them last over time and suitable to new living needs.
