Elena Salmistraro enriches the Posidonia collection for Natuzzi Italia with the Gorgonia rug, a project that embodies the excellence of Mediterranean Italy in its patterns, materials and production techniques. The choice of decorative motifs illustrates a world made up of square and geometric elements, inspired by tuff quarries, together with organic, undulating and abstract elements originating from the sea surrounding Puglia. This antithetical blend is harmoniously reinterpreted and modernizes the traditional rug through materials: the fibre used to produce it is derived from recycled PET, emphasizing the attention to sustainability that is increasingly present in Natuzzi Italia’s production choices, while the relief decoration is created by hand using the traditional crochet technique.
