Foscarini and Dordoni, together again with Chapeaux, a refined, elegant project in which the parts of the composition have been reduced to a minimum. A collection of table lamps for three personalities, three atmospheres of light, three different approaches to décor. In the metal version, the diffuser is in steel, with a glossy white finish on the inside to enhance light reflection. In the glass version, the diffuser is in blown-cased glass with a glossy finish. The “warm white” hue of the glass is pure white when the lamp is off and takes on an ivory tone when it is on, thanks to the inner layer of pale yellow “pagliesco” glass. The diffuser in porcelain is made of the finest Bone China, which stands out from classic porcelain for its warm translucence.
The cylindrical central body in borosilicate glass is open at the upper and lower ends. The lighting components, specifically developed by Foscarini to provide radial light, are housed in an opal polycarbonate shell which constitutes the luminous core of the lamp. A small rod in brushed aluminum positioned at the top of the luminous ampoule is the touch dimmer to control the light. The light intensity can be set at three different levels, combined with an on-off control switch. The lamp’s memory conserves the latest dimmer setting when activated by a wall-switch. The transparent electrical cord softly flows through the stem and emerges from the luminous volume thanks to a special opening. White transformer on the plug.
