An intuition derived from the language of carpentry represents the distinctive feature of a modular system that is new in terms of formal construction and innovative in terms of compositional flexibility. If from a literal point of view the term chamfer indicates a chamfer created by cutting a right angle at 45°, in the sofa it expresses a double expansion of perspective, aesthetic and functional. Externally, the chamfer softens and acts as a guide, giving the bulk a spatial and architectural value; internally, the angle encloses and supports, favoring a versatile seating style that is well suited to the domestic environment as well as to use in public spaces.
Through five modules, different in terms of extension and depth, and a single connection, it is possible to imagine a multiplicity of combinations, from simple mirror-like juxtapositions to more complex geometric sequences. The sign is strong, recognizable in the references to the deconstruction carried out with Lowland (2000) and to the sophisticated design of Redondo (2010) or Massas (2012). The term “chamfer” refers to the architectural detail of the “beveled corner”. This is where the plan shape of the sofa comes from, which characterizes all the elements of the seating system. Versatile, flexible, sumptuous, these sofas welcome us in a large and elegant embrace.

The Chamfer sofa celebrates Moroso’s twentieth year of collaboration with Patricia Urquiola : “Discussing this anniversary with Patrizia, for the twentieth year of collaboration, we decided to work on a simplification of a series of echoes deriving from projects done in the past, linking ourselves for example to Redondo and other sofas that for us represented a sort of ‘cradle’, a nest. We lowered, we geometricized, we brought to purer, cleaner lines and this edge came out, this broken edge as the English say, this Chamfer, a word that comes up in architecture where, when we join two curved lines, we join them in a chamfer.” (Patricia Urquiola)

Fireproof, non-deformable, cold-foamed and expanded polyurethane with differentiated density and polyester fiber with internal wooden structure. Feet in black polypropylene. Optional cushions in polyester fiber and memory foam chips. All elements are supplied complete with ABS joining devices. The Chamfer 1 collection has removable covers.

Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.

Product care

Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.
