On occasion of the 2023 Milan Furniture Fair, Tonelli Design, the iconic brand known for the glass processing and its products of refined beauty, presents Beryl, the innovative and seductive mirror created by Francesco Forcellini, inspired by the typical cuts and steps of emeralds and other gemstones of the beryl family.
The concept: from gemstone to design object
More precious than diamonds, beryl is the family of stones including emeralds and other precious gemstones such as aquamarine or red beryl, one of the rarest in the world. Beryl watches these gems of extraordinary beauty and catches their essence starting from the very cut, knows as step cut, which is remarkably complex in order to protect extremely fragile gems that could break. By creating Beryl, Tonelli Design and Forcellini take openly cue from the cutting procedure of a gemstone betting on an immaculate transparency. Its collections assume their own independent existence and the pureness of this inspirations allows to give life to a mirror that not only reflects images but also becomes in turn the reflection of an artisan style and an out of the ordinary way of conceiving interior design.
The designer’s words
“Beryl is an out of scale gemstone, a sculptural mirror – says Francesco Forcellini. The lateral facets create a sensation of solidity, softened by the curing of the profile and that have their own visual language. Juxtaposing inclined slabs with curved lines creates a clean but sophisticated object that strikes at first sight as a diamond”.

Beryl is a wall mirror that adapts to any environment and is available in several shapes: square, vertical rectangular or horizontal rectangular. This versatility makes it the perfect choice for any space of the house, from the entrance to the living area to the bedroom.
