The “Himalayan rugs” collection, composed of rugs created with the kilim technique, presents an unusual combination of materials. The mixed use of Allo and banana fibers gives an irregular and artisanal effect, which highlights the shine of the nettle fiber in contrast with the roughness of the jute yarn fringes used for the warp.

Allo is characterized by physical and mechanical properties suitable for textile work, in particular for the length of the fiber, longer than any other natural fiber. Traditionally processed, spun and woven to make jackets, carrying bands, ropes, mats, bags and blankets, nettle fiber today represents an important potential for generating rural income, especially in mountain areas.
