Pied-à-terre is an extendable round table with a steel base and a soft touch laminate top.
Geometric, sculptural, essential. But above all, also extendable. Pied-à-Terre, the new round table designed by BrogliatoTraverso, is the essence of convivial style, available in a fixed version (with a diameter of 120 cm) and an extendable version (with a diameter of 125 cm that becomes 180 cm). When closed, it is compact but always ready to make room for guests by extending with discretion and character.
“The round table represents in its own way a microcosm with different rules of use” declared the designers Alberto Brogliato and Federico Traverso. “Thanks to the geometric continuity of the circle, it does not have a preferred direction and has the ability to naturally predispose diners in a more convivial attitude compared to rectangular and square tables”.
Magis, however, wanted to do more: Pied-à-terre radically distances itself from other round tables, and translates the geometric shape par excellence into a captivating object, which stands out in the living space at first glance and offers a new perception of what a round table can be.
We asked the designers to reinvent the extendable table and the focus was entirely on the circle, the most welcoming and inclusive geometry, but with Magis’s unique and never predictable approach to design. Et voilà, Pied-à-terre is a domestic architecture in perfect balance between lightness and stability.
The secret? A static ballast in recycled marble, a strong and distinctive element, which transforms the base into a graphic and sculptural sign. A detail as simple as it is iconic, which blends classic architectural inspirations with the most contemporary design.
The round design invites conviviality, while the extension mechanism is perfectly integrated into the volume, without altering its visual cleanliness. The structure is in steel and the top in soft touch laminate, in different colors. Everything is designed to enhance the gesture, without hiding it. Because for us, aesthetics and function are a single path.
Pied-à-Terre is a table that perfectly furnishes both domestic spaces and contract contexts, with an unmistakable style: that of Magis.

Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.
